Christian Kamrath

KamrathChristian graduated from UF with a B.S. in Geography and Certificate in Meteorology and Climatology in May 2014.

He is served as President of the University of Florida chapter of the American Meteorological Society 2013-2014

He was a paid research assistant 2012-2013

He conducted hurricane research as part of the University Scholar’s Program 2013-2014

After graduating in May 2014 with a B.S. in Geography, Christian completed a summer internship on climate change communication with George Mason University and the National Park Service. He also volunteered at the local county emergency management office in Orlando. Recently, Christian accepted a position as an ORISE Fellow within the EPA, working with their Emergency Response Team within their Water Security Division under the Office of Water in Washington D.C. He is developing outreach strategies to aid in communicating to local water/wastewater utilities how to prepare for disasters such as hurricanes. Christian writes, “I must thank you for getting me to this point and instilling in me a geographer’s point of view which people are realizing is more and more valuable as our world’s problems become more and more complex.”
