Research Statement
My research focuses on understanding the processes, patterns and impacts associated with tropical cyclone rainfall in the Caribbean. My PhD dissertation is titled “Spatial Climatology of Tropical Cyclone Rainfall and the Flood Hydrology of Puerto Rico”. Currently I am working on the first and second chapters of my dissertation in which their focus is on determining what environmental conditions and storm specific factors cause TC rainfall to significantly vary from one storm to another in the island of Puerto Rico and also aims to understand how this precipitation is spatially and temporally distributed over the island.
